A couple of weeks ago Swedish sensation First Aid Kit premiered their new single "The Lion's Roar" the first sample from their upcoming second album with the same name. The video premiered at Spin Magazine and you can now watch it on YouTube as well.
The album, which will be released on January 24th, is produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes) and was recorded in Omaha, Nebraska earlier this year.
Along with the new single the band will also present a video for the track directed by Mats Udd, who also worked with the band on "The Ghost Town" and the popular YouTube clips "Live in The Forest". Udd who also has directed videos for artist such as Roxette and The Concretes, had four videos featured at the BBC Music Video Festival this year. "The Ghost Town" was one of them.
The Video for "The Lion's Roar" is recorded in a national park outside Stockholm, the hometown of First Aid Kit. Udd comments the video and idea behind it:
"Klara and Johanna wanted to make a darker video this time and we got inspired by movies such as "The Wicked Man" and from The Manson Family. I always wants to bring in as much as possible of the Swedish landscape in my videos and I think that suits First Aid Kit perfectly. Also, I wanted to tell a story about a suitcase lying on the bottom of a lake. Like a fairytale."
At the moment First Aid Kit is in states, touring with Lykke Li and Bright Eyes.
