For Cruise 2012, Gucci showed a modern bon ton. Creative Director Frida Giannini create a collection from a timeless aesthetic while re-examining the House's code through a contemporary lens. The result is a contamination of styles seen in archival photographs from Fifties and Sixties with a modern vision.
There is a feeling of tactile sensations from unexpected material combinations. Overlapping pieces with sheer cuts and contrasting colors, synthesized in trompe l'oeil outfits. A mix and match inclination applied with a sophisticated approach towards prints. Colorful leopard. Macro cashmere. Animal flowers. Tapestry. A true imprint.
Our favourite is the evening look. The dandy hints of a diva. A masculine touch in a new tuxedo with tapered pants or a white dinner jacket worn with a golden reflector top. Small jewel accents and low waist to softly elongate the lines. Femme grafique in long column dresses in white, black or gold. From opaque satin to double georgettes or sequins all over gowns. Beautiful pieces to be worn in the early spring.
